Timothy Rollin Pickerill
br 1967, Nebraska, USA
Mr Pickerill is a poet and multimedia performance artist showing in America and abroad. He completed studies at San Francisco State University in 1998 majoring in Anthropology and Art, with an emphasis on installation and media. Since 1994 he has self produced twelve installation performances under the Omen Project, incorporating elements of photography, video, writing, performance, installation and his noise project. Mr Pickerill having painted since childhood continues to develop figurative painting series developing emotional and visceral content.Having practiced photography since childhood, and in studies in college, continues to develop many different series and techniques. While he waits for the return of Polaroid film he is in love with his Cannon G7 and the possibilities that come with digital photography. With both of these mediums as well as previous work using film, he has been developing a personal style capturing the time and movement of life, and a lusciousness and softness that can be captured in lengthy exposures. The photo series here were taken at Chelsea gallery openings with a one to two second exposure and then pushed in Photoshop. The name of this series is Bodies Into Light; 'there is only light, moving, never stopping.'
